You can use the mouse and keyboard to navigate through Windows, install software and games, and perform any other tasks you would normally do on a Windows PC. When you launch Windows through Parallels Desktop, it opens in a separate window, just like any other application. This means you can use all your favorite Windows applications and games on your Mac without sacrificing the performance and stability of your macOS environment. The program allows you to seamlessly switch between macOS and Windows without the need to restart your computer. Running Windows on a Mac with Parallels Desktop can feel like having two computers in one. Please note that you will need to have a valid license key for Parallels Desktop to use it beyond the trial period. You can install applications, browse the web, and perform any other tasks you would normally do, including downloading, installing, and playing most Windows games. To switch back to your main macOS environment, you simply need to minimize or close the virtual machine window or shut down the virtual machine from the Parallels Desktop menu. This virtual machine will allow you to run a separate operating system within a window on your Mac and use it just like you would on a regular computer. Once Parallels Desktop is installed, you need to launch the application from your Applications folder and create a new virtual machine (VM). To use Parallels on a Mac, you need to first download the installation file from the Parallels website and follow the installation instructions. Also, you should note that not all guest operating systems are supported on Macs with an M1 chip, so be sure to check Parallels Desktop’s compatibility list before installing a guest OS. You need to download the installation file for Apple M1 Macs from the official Parallels Desktop website. Installing Parallels on Mac M1 is a bit different than installing it on an Intel-based Mac.

Dividing the MT score by 16 in this case doesn't really work - that's why you have an ST portion of the bench. Did you mean 1% faster in ST in geekbench? That 16 thread comparison is misleading - ADL has 20 threads on the 12700K and gets around 9.4k in MT. It gets destroyed in CPU-z ST by alder lake. I realized that, by including math parody videos within the video lessons, I could get students more engaged with the distance learning, and also give them a moment of laughter at a time when it was awfully hard to laugh. While the response wasn’t what I was expecting, and no students ever ended up creating their own videos, they did send me emails pleading to make more videos. In order to kick it off, I created a model: “Math Hurts” a math parody of the song “Truth Hurts” by Lizzo. In a nod to Carol(e)’s I saw the opportunity to pair math + music and hoped that their past successes would be a foreshadowing of mine to come. It started with a challenge I issued to the students to create a math parody of a pop song of their choosing. The more I checked in with students the more it became clear: what they were missing was not the content, it was the connection to their goofy and entertaining teacher. I used all of the resources I had and put in countless hours creating video lessons and activities that I was certain would keep students engaged and learning. I knew how to create entertaining and dynamic lessons for in-person instruction, and I had dabbled with educational technology but was by no means a master. All at once, the in-person schooling was paused and we were forced into an all-remote world that I don’t think anyone was prepared for. Dan Davis after the 2008 Commencement Ceremony | Photo by Brooke Kessel Rapping up the school yearįlash forward to this past March, and the beginning of what would ultimately be the end of my 11th year teaching middle school. Hear I am with another of BU’s incredible and inspirational professors, the late Dr. If ever there was a perfect inspiration for an aspiring math teacher, it was those two. The tandem had written mathematical musicals that they had performed at countless schools, and never hesitated to break into song at any moment (I can still hear them singing, “To borrow, to borrow, we can’t say to borrow, we must say regroup today”). Both professors served as my advisor at some point during my tenure and BU, and if there was one message that they echoed over and over it was that math should be real-world, be authentic, and be entertaining. While I won’t take you through every class or professor that I had, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Carol(e)’s: Dr. As an incoming freshman at BU, I knew that I wanted to be a math teacher and, while I had plenty of experience being a student in a classroom, I had no idea what I would be like as a teacher. To best understand where I am today, it’s important to flashback to the fall of 2004. Staring blankly at the computer screen, I realized that it was time to throw caution to the wind, and risk making an absolute fool out of myself if it meant reaching the students. As someone who prided himself on teaching through building great relationships with students and injecting excitement into typically dry topics like fractions, I felt defeated. It’s easy and fun for kids with its intuitive design and wide breadth of content.I was out of ideas. is a kid-safe site and is designed so that children can learn on their own and at their own pace. On Starfall, you will find additional math games, counting games, and geometry & measurement games to help further children’s growth in math education. There are also songs using positional and directional words to increase the use of math vocabulary which is an essential component of learning mathematics. The use of music and rhyme helps children memorize the numbers and their sequence. The skills taught in Starfall Math Games include time and calendar concepts, counting forwards and backwards, number recognition, ordinal numbers, money concepts, addition (or combining), and subtraction (or removing). Individual videos feature children's music accompanied by cheerful hand-drawn animations. The use of music videos draws children in and makes each number fun and exciting to learn. Starfall’s math songs focus on small sets of numbers, from zero to ten, easing learners into each engaging activity. They will sing along with characters such as Mox the Fox, Backpack Bear, and other delightful animals, birds, and fish. Starfall’s math songs guide children at the early stages of their counting journey. More tailored prevention measures and additional resources for maternal health are urgently needed to resolve this problem.ĭeath Disability-adjusted life year Global burden disease Incidence Maternal mortality ratio Maternal sepsis and other maternal infections. However, the increased burden and upward trends of MSMI in a few countries and regions are raising concern, which poses a serious challenge to maternal health. These findings highlight significant improvement in MSMI care in the past three decades, particularly in the low and low-middle SDI regions. Mis suscripciones ¿Qué es Emoción Politica de privacidad Condiciones Generales Mis suscripciones Condiciones Generales Gestionar Suscripciones. The MMR and ASR were negatively correlated with corresponding SDI value in 2019 in 204 countries/territories and 21 regions. Substantial diversity of disease burden and trends occurred in different regions and individual countries, most of which had reduced burden and downward trends. MSMI is still one of the most important causes of maternal death in the developed world. The burden of MSMI was the highest in the low SDI region with the fastest downward trends. Moreover, we determined the effect of sociodemographic index (SDI) on MSMI epidemiological parameters.Īlthough incident cases almost stabilized from 1990 to 2015, the ASR of incidence, death, DALY and MMR steadily decreased globally from 1990 to 2019. Then, the trends of MSMI were assessed by the estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) of MMR as well as the age-standardized rate (ASR) of incidence, death and DALY. Comprehensive knowledge of the burden and trend patterns of MSMI is important to allocate resources, facilitate the establishment of tailored prevention strategies and implement effective clinical treatment measures.īased on data from the Global Burden of Disease database, we analysed the global burden of MSMI by the incidence, death, disability-adjusted life year (DALY) and maternal mortality ratio (MMR) in the last 30 years. The paper is concluded with a summary of the operational scope of an MSMI mission.Maternal sepsis and other maternal infections (MSMI) have considerable impacts on women's and neonatal health, but data on the global burden and trends of MSMI are limited. The satellite design solution is then presented with trade-offs on the key system elements that are possible. This is followed by a mission analysis covering the envelope of operational conditions expected of the satellite. The paper will start with the sample application that is developed in conjunction with the MSMI imager as a baseline requirement. Further more, a clear indication of the available capacity for additional medium resolution payloads provide information on the full utilisation possible with the SunSpace180 micro-satellite bus. The single instrument solution lies in a high performance micro-satellite bus that enables the maximum utilisation of the MSMI payload through ADCS and on-board storage, power and downlink capability. The increase in utility through the use of the payload in the ARM constellation has already been described. Increasing the utility starts with a high performance satellite bus, which is the topic of this paper. The challenge is thus to maximise the use of the hyperspectral payload in combination with the high resolution panchromatic and multi-spectral payloads. At the other extreme single payload missions are also attractive in order to minimise cost. Other solutions for multiple payloads have traditionally focussed on a large platform with many instruments, necessitating scheduling the use between the instruments. In particular the MSMI has been designed for easy integration into different spacecraft buses. The challenge is to maximise the utilisation capacity of the MSMI instrument in order that it can be applied for operational data set production. The MSMI represents a unique high value micro-satellite payload and as such the satellite bus to support the payload needs to ensure the maximum utility from the instrument. From my experience So let’s say thunder vs Indy Thunders are lower and lighter Indys are heavier and higher But they also make models of there trucks that are lighter know as hollow or forged. Did not notice much difference only that the Ventures felt a little bit more stable and the Thunders had a slightly quicker pop. Thunder Titanium 147) lights on flat on the same Board. There is lots of news coming regarding Ben and Canada Skate Shop…. Tried both Trucks (Venture 5.2 low ligths vs. Go Thunder or Venture if you want stability. I’ve got word from the man himself, that he just loves the 8 inch deck.īut the thing is, we won’t be limiting ourselves to just one woodshop or one type of deck. Polar, Real, Anti-Hero and many other, just check out the slap woodshop thread for yourself. Ben gets up and also gets down on this sick deck You see Canada Skate Shop, just like Ben, is all about quality and top pop, not hype! So when we discussed what kind of boards we should be stocking for the shop, it was a no brainer to go with the same woodshop that the top brands are using. Look at the smirk on his face, he loves that Generator Blank 8.0″ !!! Ben’s riding the 8.0 Generator woodshop blank I sent him a couple weeks ago. The ledge is literally thigh high! How did you get up there Ben?īut then I looked a little closer and I figured it out. Thunder Trucks are one of the most popular brands of skateboard trucks on the. The Venture Low Truck has a width of 7.875, a hanger size of 5.0, and a kingpin angle of 50 degrees. It’s pretty tough to pick out just a couple tricks from this video which features a ton of skating, but when I saw Ben start attempting nose slides on this ledge I was like damn… In this blog post, well take a look at the history of skateboard trucks, how they work, and the pros and cons of high trucks vs low trucks. I haven't skated Ace long enough to test durability, but I don't skate at 48 years old, the way I did as a teen, so I don't see issues with durability on any brand of trucks really (for me anyway). I broke Thunders more than any other brand. But I gotta say, what deck has he been riding? He is killing it lately. Venture is comparable to Indy, but a little heavier. Now I won’t get into any of the technical aspects, I will leave that for Ben to dissect and believe me, he does a great job of it. The base plate is the base layer, or foundation, of the truck. Once you watch this video, you’re gonna have to admit that this was a great one that Ben De Gros recently put out. 4.1 Venture 4.2 Independent 4.3 Thunder 4.4 Ace 4.5 Royal. Thunder head to head in Ben De Gros latest video – but the real questions is – what deck is he riding ? Diverse format options: You’ll probably end up scanning text documents and receipts most of the time, but a good scanning app should also be adept at capturing material from less-common sources such as whiteboards, book pages, newspaper and magazine articles, and business cards. If the app can automatically back up scans to cloud storage, all the better. Ample sharing options: A good scanning app provides a convenient way to share your scans and OCR results on all the channels you like to use-email, Dropbox, Google Drive, Slack, printers, faxes, and more. Some apps export raw text (either as a TXT file or copied to the clipboard), while others provide formatted text in RTF or DOC files. Accurate text recognition: The best scanning apps use optical character recognition (OCR) to locate text in an image and convert it to an editable document.Different apps provide different scan resolutions and different filters, some of which are better than others at smoothing out wrinkles, shadows, and other blemishes. Great image quality: Although the scan quality is partly dependent on the quality of your phone’s camera, it also has a lot to do with the app itself. We looked for apps with intuitive controls, a thoughtful layout, and helpful features such as automatic document recognition and capture. Ease of use: Above all else, scanning apps need to be easy to use, or else you won’t want anything to do with them.Having trouble searching for text or numbers in your scanned receipts? Try searching by file name instead by default, Google Drive stitches the date of a scan into the file name, like so: “scanned_20130523” (for May 23, 2013). Everything look good? Then tap the “check” button to upload the image to Google Drive. Are you scanning a multi-page receipt? Tap the “+” button to scan the next page. You can twirl the image around with a “pinch” gesture, or tap the Crop or white-balance buttons to make adjustments. Next, you’ll see a preview of the image.A viewfinder should appear on the screen when it does, aim your phone’s camera at the receipt you want to scan, make sure it’s centered on the display, then tap the virtual shutter release. Time to start scanning! Tap the three-dot menu again, tap “Add new,” then tap Scan.Tap the three-dot Menu button in the top-right corner of the screen, tap “Add new,” tap Folder, then give your folder a name, like “Receipts.” (You can, of course, reorganize your Google Drive files anytime you like.) Before you start scanning receipts, you might want to create a folder in which to file them all.Once you’re all set, fire up the Google Drive app. First, of course, you’ll need a Google Drive account (you should already have one if you’ve got a Google account) and the latest version of Google Drive for Android.Ready to scan some receipts? Let’s get started… You can preview scanned receipts and make adjustments with the edit buttons before uploading them to Google Drive. Still, Google Drive’s new scanning feature (which, for now, is only available on the Android version of the Google Drive mobile app) could be handy for anyone who wants to snap and store receipts, business cards, or any other paper documents on the fly. Once uploaded, Google Drive will scour the image using OCR (short for Optical Character Recognition) technology, and if the image you snapped is clear enough, you’ll be able to search for any words of numbers that Drive managed to detect.īefore you get too excited, keep in mind that Google’s OCR accuracy is somewhat hit and miss it does much better with words and letters than with numbers, and it also hates creases, so make sure to scan your receipts before folding them up in your pocket. Just point and shoot, and the Google Drive app will convert the image of your receipt into a PDF, and then upload the file directly to your cloud-based, accessible-from-anywhere Google Drive account. The latest version of the Google Drive app lets you scan just about any paper document-yes, including receipts-using your Android phone’s camera. Are you a stickler for keeping your receipts? If so, there’s a new feature in Google Drive for Android that’s right up your alley. Here are the top 10 tips to make a minimalist logo: Keep the design flat Minimalist logos usually resonate more with the latter. There are some speeches that are loud and powerful, and there are also some that are short but in-depth and quotable. Think of it this way, minimalist logos are like speeches. The challenge is basically to make more with less. Minimalist logos can be quite challenging.ĭue to their simplicity, it is sometimes hard to create a perfect minimalist logo without going overboard. The good thing about minimalist logos is that they go beyond just regular text. Sometimes minimalist logos can even be more attention-catching than other regular logos. They don’t play around too much and oftentimes come off as serious but they are definitely not boring. Minimalist logos are also very good at being both corporate and creative at the same time. The beauty of minimalist logos is that they show simplicity while not lacking in their meaning. Minimalist logos have become trendy but they have actually been existing ever since. While most logos beat around the bush or can be too bright and too eye-catching, minimalist logos try their best to keep everything on the down-low with a professional charm about it. The beauty of minimalist logos is that they do not hoggle too much attention but are still able to show their simple beauty by being clean, straightforward, and very professional looking. It’s no denying that minimalist logos are pretty much in as of the moment. Or, contact a nearby cancer center or oncology office to ask about donating your wig locally. If you have layered hair, the shortest layer often needs to meet the minimum length requirement.Īdults and children can donate hair. All of them have a minimum length of hair that can be donated, commonly ranging from 8 inches to 14 inches. It’s important to follow an organization’s donation requirements if you want your hair to be used. How are the wigs made for each recipient?Ģ. Read the hair donation requirements carefully. What are the medical requirements for receiving a wig? Here are some questions you may want to ask about each organization’s process so you’re comfortable with your donation: Other organizations provide wigs for people around the world, such as Wigs & Wishes.Īdditional information could help guide your decision, and more details are often provided on an organization’s website. Some organizations serve specific states, such as Wig 4 Kids of Michigan. For example, Locks of Love, Wigs For Kids, Chai Lifeline, and Children With Hair Loss focus on children who’ve lost their hair from cancer or another medical reason. Do a little research to make sure that you’re comfortable with who receives the wigs and how. Here’s how to make the kindest cut of all: 1.
